Here is a picture I took of our tree in our new house......With the drapes that were left, it loosk a bit like a theater!  Kind of fancy looking huh?!

Oh, my hubby has cancer, multiple myeloma, and has been getting treatment at the best place in the world, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.....well, yesterday, somone gave some NFL Texans tickets away....Guess who scored a pair, yes siree.....we will be there on Sunday in a luxury suite.  Go Texans.......Thank you MD Anderson and thank you to the anonymous donor.....we are gonna have fun....

Still learning!

55 and still learning....I am not very tech savvy....so if I flub anything up, ya'll will know why!

I delivered an Etsy sale locally here in H-town (Houston) and met the very nice lady halfway.  Needless to say, my better thinking half didn't remind me that half of Houston, the 4th largest city in the US,  is out shopping.....so at 5:30 there is nooo way I am getting on the freeway.  And our meet up place was not exactly the best place to meet at.  Kind of scary....and the birds!  Geez, there must have been hundreds of the noisy grackles.  in the trees, on the ground, flying around, dancing around on the cars.  Poo was everywhere......  And getting home was another story. It took over an hour to get home...good grief.  So, I am still learning....yes I am....is it worth it?  Yes it is!

Out of towners coming on Saturday, i need to get moving on this unpacking......when will I ever get to craft??  Working full time and finding time for crafting is hard.

I want to sit on the floor with my goodies all around me, and dig into my stuff and finish unfinished projects.

New home loan approved!

Woo hoo!  Loan approved, closing on Friday, cant get any better than that.  Can't wait to set up my new production room/studio.  I really dislike the word srudio.  It is my room where I produce my creations,  so it's my production room!

Pictures later, oh, btw, the kitchen is pink, pink cabinets, pink flowered wallpaper.  I have nothing against pink, but I like neutral, or bright, like red, orange, yellow. 

coyote's yipping

Hard to sleep in this house........I live in a tiny town in Texas, 600 population....not far from Houston, but nontheless, it's country.....because I live in this rural area of the county, even though I live "in town" (ha),
and this rental house is night particularly airtight......we hear noises.   Now that the window unit airconditioner is shut off at night. we hear everything...right down to how close the coyotes are when they are out lurking around in the evening.  I am about 2 blocks from the farm fields....we can literally hear the packs of coyotes yipping and carrying on.

When we hear the coyotes, it is eerily quiet.  Not a single dog barks.........

The total count this year, 21......trick or treaters!

Happy Halloween!

We have lived here, in this house for 6 years.....we only rent mind you....and we get along with everyone...not too many neighbors and a few kids.  It's only a population of maybe 600 including me.

In the past six years, I can count on 1 hand the number of trick or treaters that have come to our door. 
So this year, once again, I bought candy.  Forget those mixed bags of stuff that noone likes anyways.......forget the smarties....If I am going to eat the left overs, I am eating stuff I like....so this year it's peanut butter cups, kit kat, and tootsie pops(for work)  : )

Sandy

Our little dog....she is a chihuahua and rat terrier mix and what a pistol she is!

I found her as a puppy in the parking lot of a local grocery store.  She was there begging me to take her home.  Our other dog Dottie(who is now in heaven having the time of her life) was killed by some neighborhood bully dogs.  This came at a time in our lives where my husband had just come home from a 3 month stay in the hospital.  Needless to say, being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma is frightening enough, then to have your blessed dog killed when you so want to have that comfort of your pet....well....it was just awful.

So I found Sandy, there in that parking lot with her brothers and sisters.  I had to have her for John.
I ran into the store for some puppy chow, stuck her in my purse, got home and out popped her head!!!!  I did not know if it was too soon following the death of Dottie, but hey, I wanted my husband to get well, and keep his mind off his condition.  It was love at first sight.  They are the best of friends.

That was 3 years ago.  Sandy just celebrated her third birthday, and John is still doing very well.  He gets chemotherapy every week.  She is so spoiled.  And smart!!!

I can tell when it's fall in Texas....

You know it's fall when your flowers start to perk up!  I don't know what these little pink things are...I bought them at the dollar store.......but they have begun to flower quite some type of mini rose...Oh and look at the new hibiscus plant, I had not seen the flowers on this one yet this bloom is at least 5 or 6 inches.

I have been on vacation this week, packing for our big move!!!  Instead of cleaning and packing, I cannot stay away from making something......

Awakenings.............!

Stumpy thinks he needs to get our attention......at 5 AM on our days off. 
Wake up to purring that sounds like a chain saw toy my Grandson had......a wet nose in my face....15 lbs of cat weight, climbing all over us. 

This cat who eats twice a day and weighs 15lbs is the sweetest manx cat.  Meet Stumpy!

Inspiration

I have to say that with all the sites out there...the blogs....Etsy....all the youtube tutorials.....I have found my inner crafter!

I have dabbled in painting, sewing, crocheting....One of my first projects was this owl pillow.

  I made him from an image I saw in a magazine......Their pillow was for sale for $75....well of course..I thought....."I can make that"! 

Hw was made from some vintage interior design fabric scraps....all cut and appliqed. 

I think he is a hoot!!!!!

Well, as it tunred out, I wrapped him as a gift for my daughter, who cherishes him so much, he is kept out of sight and dirty hands.....away fom viewing pleasure....

Oh well.
